A Promised Seed

At 12 years old, I was asked to do an essay about which career path I dreamt to pursue one day.

And right at the top of my list was...

Graphic Designer.

I may not have had the words for it yet, but I could already feel that creativity was part of who I was.

At the time, I was in the class of a teacher we all knew as Mr Mielie ("Mr. Maize"). He was one of those rare teachers who sees something in a child and encourages it, and he gave me the opportunity to paint a mural on the classroom floor, and the whole graffiti artwork had a maize theme.

At the end of primary school, he gave me a Maize Seed.

And with that seed, he told me to take it, germinate it, and grow it well in my life.

I could feel the weight of those words and I knew they mattered. They gave me something to hold onto — a sense that a promise had been placed in my hands and planted in my heart, even if I could not yet see what it would become. It gave me Hope.

1 Corinthians 3:6–7: “I planted the seed… but God has been making it grow.”

"Neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow" (1 Corinthians 3:7)

A tiny amount of faith can result in big outcomes, just like a small seed grows into a large plant (Matthew 13:31-32).

PS: This is the actual seed he gave me.

Letitia

joyful, noble-hearted lily

Named after my grandmother Aletta Susanna.

Letitia comes from the Latin word laetitia, meaning: joy, gladness, happiness, delight

Susanna comes from the Hebrew name Shoshannah, meaning: lily / rose / graceful flower

Letitia Susanna can mean “a joyful, noble-hearted lily” — someone who carries gladness, grace, beauty, and quiet strength.

I was born with an eye condition called strabismus, had major eye surgery at the age of three, and for much of my life I lived with limited vision in one eye and constant strain.

I was told I would likely rely on thick glasses for the rest of my life.

Because of that, vision was never only physical. It became emotional, inward, and closely tied to a deeper calling in life.

As a child, I carried a strong inner world, vivid dreams, and a sense that there was more beneath the surface than what could be seen at face value.

Faith over fear

As I moved into high school, I was very introverted, creative, observant, and always trying to find ways to express what I felt.

In 2005, I unknowingly met my future husband, Douglas Webber, at a youth church in George called CS27 (Construction Site to Perfection). We do not even remember speaking to one another then, but it was during those years in church that my personal relationship with God deepened. It was a very important season for me, because it shaped the way I began to live — more by faith, and less by sight.

After high school I had big dreams, and even applied to study product design, but life at home was difficult and there was not support available for that path to unfold.

So at 19, I left for Cape Town to start building a life for myself. I started with almost nothing, and for the next few years, life was really just about survival.

Looking back, I can see how those years built character and taught me resilience, discipline, adaptability, and how to keep moving even when the road ahead was unclear. They also shaped the entrepreneurial spirit that had already been quietly growing in me — the part that dreams boldly, works hard, and keeps moving with purpose.

Even in those very simple and difficult years, the seed was still there.

Planting the Future

In 2012, I started working for Equalizer - they manufactured maize and wheat planters, and their slogan was “Planting Your Future.”

Suddenly, that maize thread was back again.

I stayed with Equalizer for 10 years. For many of those years, I worked in procurement, and that became a very important part of my foundation. It taught me about sourcing, quality, systems, relationships, and attention to detail — skills that would later serve me again in a very different way.

As the company grew, I began to see where creative work was needed. I asked for the opportunity to step into that space, and over time, I transitioned from procurement into becoming the in-house Graphic and Web Designer.

That was a full-circle moment for me.

It is with mixed emotions we at Equalizer are parting ways with Letitia. On the one end we will dearly miss her but on the other we are very excited for her in starting a new business. She has become a cornerstone in the company’s marketing department and we are surely going to miss her in more than one way. Her sparkling personality was a tonic to all around her. Her innovation and determination made easy work of the job at hand. That said I am wishing Letitia all the best in her new endeavors in starting her own business. I have no doubt that she will make a huge success of it.

The Birth of LDJ

In 2019, Douglas and I met again in a very different season of life.

Then COVID came, and like for so many people, it brought a pause and a shift. During that time, something in me became very clear. I began to realise that my season in the corporate world might be coming to an end.

I remember going into the Franschoek mountains on a Vision / Heart Quest, really seeking clarity and direction from God. And during the quiet night under the stars, His voice was clear: "Trust me for the next steps too - I've got you."

That was the moment I knew.

Time to fly.

So I left the corporate world in June 2021, and LDJ was born.

At the time, LDJ stood for Letitia de Jongh, and that felt right because I wanted the business to be personal. I wanted it to carry my name, my heart, and my integrity. What started very small already held a bigger vision — to build something meaningful, to create with heart, and to use my gifts in a way that could truly serve others.

By grace and consistency, LDJ began to grow. I had the opportunity to work with incredible people, build beautiful brands and websites, and help bring other people’s ideas to life. And through it all, I could feel that LDJ was becoming more than just a design business.

It was becoming part of a much bigger journey.

Drawn during COVID as a reminder to sharpen my vision each morning and stay focused on what truly matters.
I drew this exact lotus pendant before I ever received it. Months later, it arrived in my life — a quiet symbol of what would later unfold through Sacred Plant Integrations.
The start of my sleeve tattoo... when I made the decision to leave the corporate world.

Goddess Sophia and the High Priestess - a symbol of wisdom, intuition, and inner knowing. For me, her eyes are closed because she is looking inward.

Interestingly, many people ask whether it is a self-portrait.

A Deeper Journey Unfolds

As LDJ continued to grow, there was also a deeper inner journey unfolding — one that was drawing me further into healing, detox, gut health, natural medicine, plants, and a more intimate relationship with the body, the heart, and the wisdom of nature.

Part of that journey led me through my own deep detox. And that detox was not only physical — it was also emotional and spiritual. It was a stripping back, a refining, and a kind of awakening that changed me deeply.

From that place, Sacred Plant Integrations began to emerge as part of the LDJ journey.

It grew out of lived experience, deep transformation, and a desire to support others in a grounded and respectful way. Because I came to understand that insight is one thing, but integration is another. True healing is not only about powerful experiences, but about how we ground them, live them, and let them become part of who we are.

During this season, I also completed Earth-based wisdom training with Born as the Earth Zen Academy, became a certified Cacao ceremonialist (read My Journey with Cacao), and started facilitating women’s circles, space-holding, and gut health and detox retreats.

It was also towards the end of this season that Pearl Powder came and completely changed my life. Read how pearl powder played a big role in restoring my eyesight.

The Next Expression of LDJ

While Douglas and I were living in Stellenbosch, I had a dream about the mountains in Montagu.

I could not ignore it.

Then, after Douglas and I got married in Bali in August 2024, we shared a vision of creating a home that could be a sanctuary — not just for us, but also for animals, for peace, for rest, and for the kind of life we felt called to build.

So when the opportunity came for us, Douglas and Letitia Webber, to move to Montagu, we said yes.

Since then, so much has transformed.

The business has naturally evolved too. What began as graphic and web design has grown into something that now includes graphic and web design, Sacred Superfoods, space-holding, business and branding consulting, and a deeper way of living and working with purpose.

During that process, I also found myself asking: "What becomes of the original LDJ now?"

Letitia and Douglas’ Journey (LDJ)

Off course! The most amazing husband and partner I could have ever prayed for.

Douglas plays such an important role in this business. He brings strength in the back-end, operations, systems, and structure — a beautiful support that allows me to flourish more fully in the work I feel called to do.

So this is no longer only my story.

It is Our Journey.

And by supporting us, our work, and our products, YOU also become part of the story.

We registered LDJ Ventures (Pty) Ltd early 2026. The umbrella under which all our offerings (ventures) will fall under.

  • LDJ Sacred Superfoods
  • LDJ Graphic and Web Design
  • etc....

But even deeper than that, I know that none of this works unless Jesus is at the centre of it. So in many ways, the “J” also came to stand for JESUS — the name above all names.

And in my story, Jesus has been there from the very beginning.

Looking Ahead

Look closely: The new logo still carries the original LDJ at its centre, but it has evolved graphically into a form that resembles an eye. Because over the years, the eye kept appearing in different ways — in drawings, in symbols, my tattoos, and in the prophetic word that I am a Seer.

So the logo is no longer only a business mark. It has become a symbol of the journey.

As I look ahead, I feel deeply called to keep learning — especially when it comes to Pearl Powder, the eye, and the deeper journey of sight. Part of that path will include iridology, deepening my understanding of the connection between the eyes, the body, and overall health. My hope is that, over time, this will grow into a way of helping others restore clarity, care for their eyesight, deepen their detox journey, and build a more conscious relationship with the way they see, whether physical or spiritual.

Words from Those Who Have Walked With Me

Letitia showed up in the Cacao Training container with an open heart, and grace, and a kindenss, which was obvious to me from the start that she walks the sacred path with devotion. It has been wonderful to mentor her over the years, and watch her become more of who she truly is. When she found her voice during this journey with Mama Cacao, I knew she was ready to hold space and share her heart's truth with others. Facilitating her and Douglas' wedding ceremony in Bali after our Cacao Pilgrimage was an honour and a joy. The caterpillar is now a butterfly, and anyone wishing to work with Letitia will be well held and supported by her graceful spirit and skill.

If I could give her 10 stars, I would. Letitia is a powerful woman, and I am not one to say so lightly. She has the kind of authority that can only be cultivated through humility, and beautifully embodies kindness, wisdom, sincerity and playfulness along with all the virtues that are necessary to play the role of facilitator of transformation.
For the years that I have known Letitia, she has ceaselessly strived to deepen her knowledge of the sacred plant integration process and ought to be an inspiration and role model to any person who is seeking a sha-woman, or seeking to embark on the journey of becoming one.
Kye Waters
I have had the privilege of witnessing Letitia apply all she has learned and embodied from BEZA (and other teachers) in her daily life - to extraordinary effect.
I, and many BEZA apprentices and students, have benefited from her detox facilitation and knowledge relating to diet and fasting.
Her initiation into the medicine of Cacao and her love for working with sacred healing plants has inspired me to engage her services with complete trust.
While there are many facilitators emerging in the transformational space, not many come with practiced integrity, wisdom and a deep intuitive sense of what “space holding” actually requires in terms of the safety and personal empowerment of attendees and the integrative support they require post sessions. In this regard I unequivocally vouch for Letitia’s nurturing care and attention to detail in the realms of energetic, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being of her clients.
I highly recommend working with Letitia!!
